Company History

How it began… In 1984 while paying for his college tuition, Cliff Haddadin, started selling clothing and shoes at the local swap meet on the weekends to fund his financial obligation. After graduation from college, Cliff, realizing his passion for providing quality merchandise to his customers along with a friendly environment for them to shop, asked for his brothers support to help him open his first store in the city of Whittier, Ca.

For the next seven years the store was a success and Cliff realized that there was a greater need for a boardshop that would house skate, surf and snow products all under on roof. His desire was for today’s youth to find all their favorite brands at one location without needing to travel all over town. The decision was made to relocate to a larger location to meet the growing demand. In December 1996, the Haddadin brothers launched their first Beach Bums store in the city of La Mirada. With this new location, the store was a huge success within the community.

With the confidence of success within the La Mirada area, they decided to introduce their action sports lifestyle to the Orange County crowd. In August of 1998 the Anaheim Hills location was opened and again, the new store was received with much enthusiasm. With this momentum, in 2003, new stores were planted around southern California and the once small family operation was blossoming into one of the largest actions sport retailers in the industry.

Since the desired roots have been to provide a core boardshop with a wide range of the best brands available in the industry, in addition to exceptional customer service and quality products, the philosophy of the company “supporting what matters” will continue to spread throughout every location past, present and future…
